You may also see some alarms or reports regarding connections to pastebin.com.
The installer downloads and runs a function that creates and runs C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Tempwinlogon.exe

That file takes care of the rest of the infection.

How did Trojan.Agent.GenX.IPH get on my computer?

Trojans use different methods for distributing themselves. This particular one was offered as a keygen for VMWare.

How do I remove Trojan.Agent.GenX.IPH?

  • Double-click mbam-setup-{version}.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
