Gday Rx7HKS,

You are welcome  , only sorry we were not able to find the problem.

I think you have just been unlucky and a part has failed.   I always stress test a new build for stability.      Given your computer tests freezes but does not shut down, I don't think it is a heat problem.   Manual overclocking could have caused damage if a voltage setting was drastically wrong..

I would get the PSU tested first, then you know which way to go, depending on the result.

If you do have to take everything in for testing, put the rig back together, easier for them testing and safer for you transporting.   Don't forget to also include the stock cooler.

Good luck.

So I took it in and they ran a diagnostic for me for free.

They were really nice about everything, however they think that the issue is the CPU. I mentioned all of the testing that I did with your advice here. They also tested the PSU and it was fine.

So I'm guessing the issue is the CPU then.

Thanks for the update.

Very good of the shop to do the tests for free, drop them is a bottle of wine the next time you are passing.

Request a RMA from the outlet that supplied the CPU.   Where you return the product depends on their return policy and the country.   If Australia, the supplier is responsible for the period of the manufacturers warranty, regardless of what the write/say.

Remove the heatsink/fan, > remove the CPU, > carefully inspect the socket and pins, are any damaged?

Take pictures of the socket, also top and bottom of CPU.   Write down all the info from the top of the CPU.

Gday Rx7HKS .

How is the RMA going?

Any damage to the CPU socket?

Did you attempt repair of the USB pins?
