AAarrrrrggggggg  !!!!!  :no:

I just upgraded my main desktop with new RAM and Graphics card. Everything seemed to be fine. But, when I jumped online and started up my favorite online game I noticed some issues right away - just before the whole system shut down. Granted the game (BDO) is graphics intensive but my system did not have a lot of issues running it b4 the upgrade as long as I kept the graphics on low. Now, however, the game itself takes forever to load. When it does finally load - my monitor cuts out and the computer appears to freeze. The power stays on but the computer does not recognize any external input from either the mouse or keyboard - white screen. I say freeze because the only way to recover is to hard boot the computer. Other than that - everything appears to be working fine. lol

I've checked and rechecked everything - including downloading the game several times and restarting both the computer and the game - no noticeable issues other than my monitor shutting down the instant the game loads and I initiate any action with it. It appears to me that the graphics card isn't operating correctly but with the addition of both new RAM and a GPU something isn't meshing correctly. I'm typing this on the computer that has the problem and everything appears to be working fine. Anyone know what is happening and why?

See attached files for system specs.

Thanks in advance.

:welcome:   Shaaazaaam,

Can you post the brand and model name or number of your PSU for us;

Please take expanded screenshots and only use the method below to attach them.

Download Speedfan and install it.  Once it's installed, run the program and post here the information it shows.  The information I want you to post is the stuff that is circled in the example picture I have attached.

If you are running on a vista machine, please go to where you installed the program and run the program as administrator.

 (this is a screenshot from a vista machine)

Download then run HWMonitor and post a screenshot so that we have a comparison to the Speedfan results, details from here

To capture and post a screenshot;

Click on the ALT key + PRT SCR key..its on the top row..right hand side..now click on start...all programs...accessories...paint....left click in the white area ...press CTRL + V...click on file...click on save...save it to your desktop...name it something related to the screen your capturing... BE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A .JPG ...otherwise it may be to big to upload... Click on the More Reply Options tab then after typing in any response you have... click on Choose File...desktop...find the screenshot..select it and click on Attach This File...on the lower left...after it says upload successful...click on add reply like you normally would.

Screenshot instructions are provided to assist those that may read this topic but are not yet aware of the “how to”.

you will find the data requested attached to the original post.

Thank you for your assistance. Let me know if you need anything else.

btw - I am currently trying to download the Asus AI suite utility from Asus but it seems that this quick fix won't run on windows 10 - lol. I have also downloaded and run the "SandraLite" utility that shows much promise in determining the issues I'm currently facing but there is no "Quick" fix for those of us who do not know how to address and fix BIOS issues.

;)

you will find attached a print-out from Sandra which suggests some areas of improvement.

Hello Shaaazaaam,

The only two things that I can see are that your PSU does not meet the minimum power output recommended and your video card is running hot for a system that is not under very much load, you should have a minimum of a bronze rated 500W PSU from a quality brand such as Antec, Corsair, EVGA or Seasonic, the card running hot could be because it is struggling for power or because of the reason explained at the second link below.

Some reading for you here and here

Hello Shaaazaaam,

If I may make a suggestion in the meanwhile, try doing some brief gaming then check the PSU output and hardware temperatures, I would not recommend overdoing things though in case the underpowered PSU either pops or damages your hardware.

You are most welcome btw and thank you for your kind words Shaaazaaam  :)
