I had a video downloaded on my old computer in 2012 which I no longer have.  When I looked at the properties the date modified was at July 13th, 2012. It said it was created on a verizon phone in Dec. 18, 2010. I'm not sure if this was listed under the type of file or date created. When you download a video is it normal for the source or device one has originally taken the video of to appear under properties when you click on it? Could someone have manipulated it in some way.  Playing with the date to make it look like the video was taken in Dec. 18th, 2010 but it actually wasn't recorded at that date or from that device?

Yes. it is certainly possible (and not that tough) to alter any field from the properties to say whatever one wants.
