Hey everyone,

Here's what happened: my laptop was running low on battery and I plugged it in. About a second or two after I plugged it in, my computer informed me it was shutting down. I had a few unnamed unsaved word documents up that were nowhere to be found upon reboot. You can imagine my dismay. I'm here because I have exhausted my energies on google to no avail. I have searched every which way to recover lost files. I've tried the traditional method of using Word's own recovery system and I've run searches on the temp folder for ~ASD files. I also checked the recycling bin. Nearly every other link is just trying to get me to buy their recovery software. I know for a fact that there is another option using several steps and cmd. A few years back I found such a method on a life hacking article of some sort. I have since been unable to relocate that article (yes I see the irony).  There is quite a bit at stake here so I appreciate any help. I am running Windows 8.

Thank you.
