Hi guys, thanks so much for helping. So I have this laptop which I just bought not long ago, maybe about 4 - 5 months. One day when I tried to power it on, it does not power on. Instead, the power led lights up and the fan starts working but the screen remains black. It took me about 10 + retries before I realized that the computer was on, it was just that the screen is so dark, you have to point a flashlight at it to see what's going on. With that, I thought it was a display issue thus I connect it to an external monitor to see if it works. It works and I did not look further into the problem assuming it was a back-light issue.

Things took a turn for the worse this morning when I tried to power it on. It does not even power on. I then start suspecting if there was a hidden problem.

I opened up my laptop and realized that the motherboard was corroded. There were white spots on it so my classmates probably got some water on my laptop and not tell me anything. I was furious but I maintained my cool and tried to figure out what I can do from here. After much researching, I got a bunch of different ideas but I cannot piece them together. Would you guys guide me on the proper steps to do from here? I removed the battery and have unplug all cables on my laptop.

Here are some pictures ( slightly to the bottom left is the white spot)

If possible, do let me know what part of the mobo is that area. I am happy to provide any extra needed information.

sorry for the bad english, thank you guys so much

Additional information: The model of the laptop is a Asus x550

An overview of the mobo would be the same as this https://youtu.be/1iLcHuQhZjQ?t=5m7s

The exact location would be here http://tinypic.com/r/34y89cx/9

Really thank you guys so much for your time, as a student, I really do not have the money to replace the entire laptop thus I am in such a panic,
