Help please: Where are photos that are attached to emails stored on my desktop W10 PC?

In particular, I receive an email (on my yahoo.com account) with an attached photo, a small shot of which I can see in the email. Beneath that small shot I see the file name “myNUamp*.jpg”. By clicking on that small image I can view an enlarged image. All good.

But where is that image stored? If I search for myNUamp*.jpg (to use that photo elsewhere), I get a “Can't find it.” response.

Shouldn't photos attached in email messages be found in the C:\downloads folder?

I am, obviously, confused. Help will be appreciated. ...batpark
