I received a monster of a new case for Christmas, an Antec Twelve Hundred! However, my motherboard only has 4 chasis fans and the case has 6 fans. Can I buy an adapter/splitter of some sort so I can plug in the remaining fans? As far as the USB goes. I could only find 1 USB 3.0 port that would fit the USB cords that the case came with. However, there are 2 USB 3.0 cables in the case. Same question applies. Is there an adapter I can get so I can plug in both?

They are labeled USB 3.0 and have like a 14(estimated based off memory) pin plug. It runs from the case header where all the USB ports are on the front and plug into the motherboard. I'm gonna need a few hours if a picture is really necessary

for the extra usb3 connection i think you'll have to connect it to a usb2 motherboard header with one of these :- what ever front usb ports use that connection though will only pass data at usb2 speeds so make sure you connect the usb3 cable with the single usb port on it and connect the other usb3 cable to the motherboard so the last 2 front ports run at usb3 speeds.(lot faster than the usb2 speeds.) :- http://www.newegg.co...U4641-_-Product

as for the fans, it looks like the front 3 have a speed control switch near the bottom right of each fan to control their speed, so i'd doubt they are 4 pin pwm fans so just use a molex to 3 fan header cable similar to this :- http://www.newegg.co...3-164-_-Product

without connecting the pwm signal connection to the mother board.

if the fans are pwm types then i believe by connection the pwm signal wire to one of your fan headers on the motherboard then the 3 fans speed can also be controlled by the motherboard/software instead of manually using the front speed controllers on the fans.

should add you have another option with the extra usb 3 case connection, you can always take it out through the back of the case and connect it to a usb3 port on the motherboard there with one of these so you won't lose any speed with the front usb ports. :- http://www.newegg.co...Y7611-_-Product

There is only 1 connection for USB3 on my motherboard and I have 2 USB3 cables to connect. There is not a single place left for me to plug in this USB cable. Nothing matches that or fits that plug's format. As for the rest of what you said... what? Lol! Each fan in the front does have a turnable dial on it. They are molex 3 connections and the board has molex 4 and they are connected and running fine just don't have enough. As for the pwm connection you mentioned, there is just the one cable from each fan. For that final link you posted, the blue 2 adapter, I plug in the 20 pin usb3 cable from the case into it and then where do the 2 split USB cables go?

your case has 3 x usb3 ports on the front of the case ok,

now a motherboards usb3 header can only support 2xusb3 port connections.

 

so out of those 3 front case usb3 ports, 2 of them go into 1 of the cases usb3 connections and the last goes into the other and that's why there are 2 usb3 cables from the case that need connecting to your motherboard.

 

now i'd connect the usb3 connection from the case that is connected to 2 out of the 3 front usb ports to the motherboards single usb3 header, and then with the second connection which is for the last front usb3 port you have 3 choices.

first is to use an adaptor like this :- http://www.newegg.co...26067-_-Product

which you can use to connect the second usb3 connection from the case to your motherboards usb2 header, this will allow you to use the 3rd front usb3 port but the port will work as a usb2 port only so data transfer speeds will be greatly reduced because usb3 is much much faster than usb2.

 

the second option you have is to use an adaptor like this :- http://www.newegg.co...Y7611-_-Product

now you plug the second usb3 case connection into one end and run the 2 usb cables out through the back of your case and connect the one that's connected to the front usb3 port into one of the usb 3 ports on the back of your motherboard. (you may need to try both to see which is the correct one) all this adaptor is doing really is using up one of the rear usb3 ports and routing it to the front usb port so your losing a physical usb connection point but gaining usb3 speeds from all front ports.

 

and finally the 3rd option is to leave it unconnected so only 2 out of the front 3 usb3 ports on the case will work.

 

 

now case fans, fans come in 2,3 or 4 pin connection types. 2 and 3 pin connections the only way to regulate/change the speed of the fan is by changing the voltage, on 4 pin fans though the speed can be controlled by that extra 4th wire. these fans are called pwm fans. more about that here. :- https://en.wikipedia...idth_modulation

 

now to connect more fans to a motherboard than you have headers then you have to use splitters or dedicated controllers.

you also have 2 choices on how you want to power those fans, either take the power straight from the motherboard or straight from the power supply, which option you choose will dictate what type of splitters you will need.

and then you just connect the 3 front fans into the other end of the cable in the fan connetors.

 

fans powered directly from the psu(power supply) run at full speed always usually without a means to slow them down for noise if required but i said to use a cable connection like this because i believe the 3 front fans in your case are 3 pin fans and the speed is controlled by a switch on the bottom right of each fan, (which you've confirmed with the turnable dials, this actually raises and lowers the amount of voltage going to the fan which controls their speed) but with the cable i linked to i also believe it is capable of controlling 4 pin fans too because it has a spare signal connection that can be plugged into a motherboard fan header. i believe this may depend on motherboard and fan header though. in your case you will not use this last connection at all and will leave it unplugged.

so that cable will free up 3 of your motherboards fan headers if you have all front 3 fans currently connected.

 

another option is to use a splitter cable like this :- http://www.newegg.co...00010-_-Product

this one which allows 2 x 4pin fans to be connected to each motherboard pwm fan header so the fan speeds are controlled by the motherboard or software.

 

and your 3rd option is to buy a fan contoller like this :- http://www.newegg.co...2-007-_-Product

to connect your fans to.

 

hope that clears things up for you and you better understand what i tried to say in my first reply.

 

 

sorry missed your edit, fan connectors are not the same as the molex connection i was talking about (can't even think at the moment what fan connectors are called except fan connectors. maybe they are molex connections too but i don't think of them as such. just the power connection from psu's as molex connections. ), but hope i've explained everything you wanted to know if not just ask and i'll try and clear up any confusion.
