I've long used myway.com as my primary email provider. Several days ago I opened a business related JPEG attachment sent by someone I didn't know and now can't access my account. When I enter my user name and password I get directed to a MyWay page that gives me two options:1. Get direct, one-click access to your primary email account - right on My Way! -or- 2. Get your own free My Way email account!

Does this sound like I've contracted a virus, or is the myway site not up and running. I can't e-mail their techies, who have always been very good in the past. When I press the "help" button, I get the above page again.

Thanks for any ideas, geeks...
Love ya,
Bry

Hi! My name is zep516 and Welcome to Geekstogo!
I'll do the best I can to resolve your computer issue
Please make sure to carefully read any instruction that I give you. If you're not sure, or if something unexpected happens, don't continue Stop and ask! Never be afraid to ask questions! :)

Lets look for any Malware

Everything gets download to the desktop and tools are "Run as administrator."

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
  • Right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from.
  • Please copy and paste log back here.
  • The first time the tool is run it generates another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST.exe/FRST64.exe). Please also paste that along with the FRST.txt into your reply.

Thanks for your reply zep516. Appreciate it.

My e-mail account has started working again (after five days), so I guess it was their issue, not mine. I think I'll dump them in the near future. Like most people, I really depend on receiving mail every day.

Again, thank you for your assistance,

All best,

Bry
