Ok hi first of all,i am new here.

I recently got a new laptop (hp 15 ba011ng ) and it came without a system ( freedos 2.0). I checked msinfo and it said Legacy in the information. I checked the bios and i had an option of disabling legacy... I did. It stated under the uefi boot priorities, which was an ok for me to confirm that i have uefi.
But nothing boots, it doesnt reconize the windows. I also created a DVD > iso > bootable usb iso uefi using rufus.

It also didnt reconize it.
I went to the recovery of windows and went to troubleshooting and then advanced to look for the uefi option ...ot wasnt there.

I installed the hp diagnostics (uefi type) and successful launched it. So in theory i do have the uefi, but in practice, i dont know exactly what to do and tried a lot ( to the exdent of only doing things i know).

Can any of you help me? How do i set up a proper iefu startup Windows 10? Clean formate isnt a problem.

Yes a 64 bit. Its a 4gb ram lappy, it needs 64bit to recognize the whole of the 4gb.

Also with UEFI and Secure boot you have to install a x64 version.

 

Check the UEFI for some option related to Secure Boot and try to disable that.

 

When the machine starts if you press F9 can you access a boot menu and from there select the flash drive under UEFI.

I have secure boot being only greyed out in the bios before the uefi priority boot up list. I was also confused about not being able to change that setting.

Change the Legacy Support to Disabled then try to install with Secure Boot Enabled and also Disabled.

I have a DVD, i dont exactly know if its uefi mode ( kay sorry im not a geek ). Dont i need to create a uefi bootable usb ? Or it doesnt matter ?

And for clarification, ' install with Secure Boot Enabled and also Disabled ', here you mean install once without secure boot enbaled, then if it doesnt work, try it with out being enable ?

Ended up giving up yesterday, w.e ill just stick to bios -_-

No i had both secureboot and legacy disabled, and it was not reading anything at all.

On Rufus select MBR partition scheme for UEFI and on the UEFI configuration set Legacy Support to Disabled and Secure Boot to Enabled.
