So I am sure this has been answered quite many times so far, but my issue has a bit of a mystery to it.

Yesterday evening I did shutdown my PC properly and haven't touched it until this morning.

Now fans powered up for 2 secs then ceased activity. I opened the case cleaned it from dust, everything, to no avail.

I thought meh I ain't got time for this, so I left it unresolved for the day. In the evening which is cca now, I unplugged all cables and connectors and removed both RAMs.

I plugged in cables and started it up. Success, no windows boot though so I turned it off again, inserted on RAM and turned it on again, all good, did the same with second RAM.

Windows boot, great, but...stutters, lagspikes in windows, just moving cursor around. Restart, BIOS, checked temperature, fan speed, ram and HDD status, all fine.

Restart, windows boot, all fine. Did pressure test on graphics card, passed.

Now question is, why it did happen when as you can see I did nearly nothing to solve this initial issue.

 

General specs:

 

-Intel Core i3-4160 [email protected] Asus

- 2x Xfire RAM 4BG

- Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 Ti

 

Not sure what people may need other than this as I am not really versed in technical informations.

We need some further computer hardware specs so for now I have only included some info for you below + a couple of questions;

 

I plugged in cables and started it up. Success, no windows boot though so I turned it off again,

 

 

A computer will not boot into Windows without any RAM inserted in the MB.

 

inserted on RAM and turned it on again, all good,

 

 

Did the computer boot into Windows and then run normally with no lag, spikes or stutters with only the first stick of RAM in the MB.

Can you post the brand and model name or number for the MB, your RAM and the PSU for us.

The above looks like you are saying that you have Crossfire RAM, is that what you mean.

Alright here goes:

 

ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. H81M-E -MB

Corsair CX430 - PSU

 

as for RAM I think its Kingston Hyper.

 

For the windows boot it did stutter after I had both rams in. After restart though it stopped.

The only thing I did is that I cleaned the components and maybe changed the MB cable to PSU as I have 2.

Now a fact is that I use PC often for more than 5 hours in row.

Ah yes it did stutter with first ram stick, but not with both. As for MB I did unplug everything and switched to second cable from the source that's what I meant.

And I don't think I meant crossfire ram, Xfire is the label on the ram stick.

That could mean that there is a problem with the first stick of RAM, if the issue happens again we can check the possibility.

So this would be the power cord from the power outlet/wall socket that plugs into the back of your PSU (power supply unit) these are often called kettle leads as that is what they resemble.

Awh right my bad, really no idea how did it get mixed up in my head. It's HyperX Fury (Plug and play auto overclock ones, two of them.). Well I am still not sure as to what could have caused the initial issue, my PC is behaving quite well, have it cca 2 years, no bsods no graphic card issue so far, fast boot, perhaps too perfect to be true.

Thought it may have been but did not say in case I was wrong, after all the best Kingston RAM is rather well marked and couldn`t possibly be mistaken 

 

A loose or badly seated memory stick or GPU would cause it as could a loose internal connection and dust causing contamination on the electrical contacts of the RAM or any add on cards.

 

Best give it a week before considering the matter resolved, if we don`t hear back from you in the nicest possible sense it will be good news, good luck
