A couple of weeks ago a re-install of windows 7 was done to my computer and now it runs like crap. It takes forever to connect to websites and or open pages. Most times when clicking on a link it;s like it's a dead link because I get no response. I've run anti-virus (everything okay) as well as malewarebytes with nothing outstanding. Please help. Thank you.

** To get rid of Avast SafeZone, go to Uninstall or change a program in Control Panel, click on Avast, click on change and then disable the SafeZone browser plug in from there.

 

Regarding the other scheduled updates, apart from Windows and your AV protection nothing should be allowed to auto update, some of the scheduled update checks will also affect your internet if you happen to be online when the updates are scheduled.

Click on the ALT key + PRT SCR key..its on the top row..right hand side..now click on start...all programs...accessories...paint....left click in the white area ...press CTRL + V...click on file...click on save...save it to your desktop...name it something related to the screen your capturing... BE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A .JPG ...otherwise it may be to big to upload... Click on the More Reply Options tab then after typing in any response you have... click on Choose File...desktop...find the screenshot..select it and click on Attach This File...on the lower left...after it says upload successful...click on add reply like you normally would.

Consider getting and always using a usb-powered external cooling fan assembly [one giant fan or twin fans].  I've been using such for both of my laptops; laptops can get quite warm, however, no more sudden shutdowns or "hot-running".

Please look after your health first and do not worry about your thread here, we appreciate you getting back to us and understand there may be a delay between replies, no rush here but hopefully a speedy recovery there 

 

Getting those temps down should be done first as not only does heat affect performance it also severely damages hardware, an example cleaning guide here
