hi all,

my acer aspire netbook [win xp ] has been working great until today.

i opened my chrome  browser and it crashed after about 30 seconds.

retried with same result.

i then :

1. disabled extensions

 2. disabled flash drive

3. went to '' incognito mode''

none of these worked.

i then went into settings and  ''added a new user'' and the browser is now working o.k

can anyone please explain this fault.

thanks

bj

Hello bjr1000,

Sorry but cannot give you a definitive answer only a possible reason, Chrome could be becoming unstable due to the lack of updates/security patches and technical support, you really should look at a browser that does still support XP as every time you go online you risk malware attack and the threat of hackers, end of Chrome support for XP article here

Lunascape, a browser that does still support XP.

from firefox i then attempted to d/l 'lunascape'.

it d/loaded ok but unfortunately the installation stuck on approx. 95% complete ??

Hi bj,

Not sure what happened but if Lunascape will not install try Opera instead which also still supports XP, download here

You are welcome btw  :)
