PSU Question

If I have a 24 pin PSU unit that has a detachable 4pin to make it a 20 pin to fit in my 20pin MB but it doesn't work still. Is the PSU dead or do i need to get a 24pin to 20pin adaptor?

Have you tested the PSU on another mobo to see if it works? It could just be compatiblility issues. I'd check my psu on a buddies mobo if I could, and then have the PSU itself tested.
