Hello, I have in a network with two wifi...

Connected to Wi-Fi_1 is an IP camera...

Connected to Wi-Fi_2 is a netbook with windows 10, bought 3 days ago.

 

I did an IP scan from netbook and it sees only 3 machines.

The network has at least 10 machines...

Connected in this way Win 10 can't see the network. I think that it can see only the machines that are connected to the same Wi-Fi only.

 

If I connect the netbook to Wi-Fi_1 then it sees the IP camera...

and disabled SMBv2 and SMBv3...

 

No luck...Is it ok, if I leave SMBv2 and SMBv3 disabled?

What if I disable SMBv1?

 

Any other ideas?

Let's get some data on your setup

 

Please download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it.

 

Checkmark just the following checkboxes:

[list]

 

[*]Report IE Proxy Settings

 

[*]Report FF Proxy Settings

[*]Reset FF Proxy Settings

[*]List content of Hosts

[*]List IP configuration

[*]List Winsock Entries

[*]List last 10 Event Viewer Errors

Click Go and post the result (Result.txt). A copy of Result.txt will be saved in the same directory the tool is run.

 

Then move the netbook to the other network and run minitoolbox agan but just check:

 

[*]List IP configuration

 

Minitoolbox may overwrite the first report.txt so post the first one before moving to the second network.

Hello, I used the MiniToolBox and got 3 reports...

One of each wi-fi and one when I connected with cable...

Could you explain how & why you have two different WiFi networks?  How are they connected together?  Are there two separate routers?  If so give me the make and model of each router and tell me how they are connected.

There are two access points, because there is big area to cover..

The first wireless is the router (Speedport W724V Type Ci) and the 2nd one is connected to the router through a hub

What is the make and model number of the second access point?  of the hub?

What is the IP address of the camera you are trying to see?

 

The manual for your router is:

If you log on to your router (page 26 of the manual) there is a section on Page 101 of the manual

 

 

where it will show you all of the devices it sees on the network.  It should give you their IP address and the MAC address.

 

Do you see your camera there?

 

 

 

You can get a similar list from your Win 10:  

 

Open an elevated command prompt:

Type:

 

arp -a

 

This should show you all of the devices the PC has recently talked too.  If you run your Angry IP scanner with a range of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.254 it should fill up the arp table completely with all devices on the network even if they don't respond to a ping.

I don't know about the hub...I will see it on Monday

 

I have not checked if camera is listed in the router, but I can access the camera from several other machines, in the network.

Nevertheless none of them runs Win 10...The only one with win 10 is the netbook

 

But...While netbook is wired everything is ok...It sees the entire network

When it is connected with wireless, it sees only the machines that are connected to the same wireless network.

 

It did an ip scan while it is connected  at WiFI_2 and gave me only 4 machines...The router, netbook itself, and 2 other...

IP Camera is 192.168.1.8....Ip scanner did not return this ip...

 

Now it is wired connected so in cmd it will give false results I think..

Do you have anything special set up on the access point?  Bridging Mode or special security or default gateway?

Hhmmm, I haven't set up the network myself, but I guess that nothing special is on the AP.

I will check it out though...

OK.  No problem with the hub.  Just trying to connect as much data as possible on exactly how your network is configured.  It really should work so some component is probably set up wrong.
