sounds like you are gonna have to manually delete the bf1942 files from your registry.....if you know how to use regedit, go for it....if not, dont. try a system restore, if you installed it recently and have winxp

I finally got it to uninstall. (I really don't want to restore)
but now when I try to install I get this message.
I've emailed Installshield's techsupport. just waiting on a reply.

Wipe the game off your harddrive, and then go to Tucows.com and download any registry cleaner. You can pick and choose in simple format any registry item to delete, or let the program find "broken" registry items.
Also, sounds like you have a copied version. That may ultimately be your problem. In order to stop piracy, Eagames built in faults that destroy any ability to install. Lol, god I like a parent or something.
