Good Morning,

Hoping someone can help me with my current issue.

Upon trying to open my itunes, i get the following message "This application has failed to start because MSVCR100.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix this problem.  That message is then followed by this message.. "itunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall itumes.  error 7 (windows error 193).

I have tried reinstalling a few times and each time continue getting these error messages.  I also googled MSVCR100.dll then downloaded the script adding it to my system but that didn't work either.

This is driving me crazy...  please help.

Thank you  :)

Googling around it seems this is a common issue. Uninstalling ALL apple products then reinstalling iTunes seems to have been the fix for some...

Go to Control Panel > Programs, Uninstall a Program

Remove all of these items in the following order:

  • iTunes
  • Apple Software Update
  • Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
  • Bonjour
  • Apple Application Support

Restart the computer, download iTunes again, then reinstall.

Let me know how you go.

ok...update.

I removed the files as stated above.  I had previously tried re-installing the lasted itunes but had no luck.  I researched and read the itunes no longer supports Vista machines so with the help of the link below, i installed an older version.  This version allowed me to install itunes with no errors but now when i plug my phone in to connect with itunes i get a message that says i have to use a newer version of itunes to use my phone with it.  Any way around this?

Thanks again...link below

Hey truder,

The most obvious way around this would be to upgrade your version of Windows. You won't be able to connect your phone via a way that doesn't void warranties or cause security issues. Besides, it's in your best interest to ensure your systems are up-to-date (phone and computer).
