Hi,

I am so messed up trying to figure out what is wrong with my computer. You guys helped me before with a registry thing or virus nightmare. I don't trust any of the repair programs online.

For obvious reasons. I used a program a week ago,  due to a scan that said I had 5 repair issues. Called REimage. It probably made it worse. Didn't repair squat. Anyway. This all started

when I  tried to put a micro sd card in my card reader slot, with the adapter. It wouldn't recognize it with the adapter or my USB adapter. Device or eject media safely would not open. I didn't want to ruin all data on the sd card, so I left it in. Still in now, as a matter of fact. Anyway, then I got a message from a scam person that completely locked up my screen and said to call them at microsoft. so I called and told them to release this program. Needless to say they wouldn't. I don't know how I got that crap on my computer. I turned machine off and killed the internet for awhile. Then started up again. I went to your site. Loaded Farbar recovery tool for 64 bit system. I have windows 10 installed. Hate it too. Anyway, the tool starts to run log and then becomes unresponsive and just sits there circling like its thinking. Its says at the top of the window (progran is unresponsive.) Yes I ran it as administrator. It doesn't seem to complete scan. I don't know how to  fix this. Please help. Thanks, Jodi Ogilvie

Hi jodibfp!  Sorry for your troubles.  First we need some more information:

1)  Do you still need help with these issues or are you getting assistance elsewhere?

2)  Can you boot the system into Safe Mode ( see here for steps to do so in Win10 if you need the information)?

3)  Do you have access to a clean system and a USB stick to transfer files with?
