Hi all, 

 

my PC has recently decided not to connect to my wifi at home.  I've been here for about 18 months without any problem.  Now I am able to see and sign in to the network, but I cannot get internet access.  The wifi itself seems fine, I am able to access it on other devices without a problem, I have also tried hard resetting it, but this hasn't helped my problem.  I have also restarted my PC multiple times, I have removed and re-installed the wireless driver (from a USB stick) but again this has done nothing to solve the problem.  I have disabled and then re-enabled wireless access, I have forgotten the network and signed in again with the passcode, which I have checked, double checked and triple checked is correct.  The security type is WPA2-Personal, which I think is correct (and which hasn't been changed).  Encryption is AES, which is the only option.

 

The problem started about 5 days ago, when internet access on my PC became temperamental, dropping in and out.  And then yesterday it completely failed and has not come back.  There were some issues recently with a Windows update, which I think kept failing as my PC would attempt it each time I went to shut down.  I'm not sure if that's related, it happened about a week before I lost access to the wifi.
