Hi all.

I have an XP PC that was built a few years ago, but to a high spec for the time.

Asus P5Q Pro motherboard, 2.6Ghz Quad Core processor and 4GB of ram.

I would like to try and partition the drive in order that I could put Win 10 on a seperate partition so that I could use either ............... if that makes sense.

If this could be done, would anyone be able to point me in the direction of an idiots' guide type walkthrough.

gives detailed instructions for resizing a partition.  XP's disk manager can't do it so you have to use a third party tool.  Always a chance of doing something so it won't boot  so make sure you have any data backed up.  

 

Can't tell you if you can install win 10 or not.  How much space can you get for the win10 partition?  MS says you need 16GB but I expect it won't be too happy with only that.

I'll be having a go at it next weekend, I'm just trying to harvest as much information as I can.
