writing a batch file

Hello,

I have no idea about command prompt or batch files etc. but I get the impression it would be possible (and quite easy) to write a batch file and have it timed to open.

What I am trying to achieve is to programme my laptop to open sound files at certain times so, say, play a .wav file of a dog barking at midday.

Could anyone give me any clues
