I have to use an external mouse because the touchpad mouse stopped working.  I tried updating driver and it said they were current.  I tried unistalling and reinstalling and same thing.  On rebooting, the touchpad mouse works till Windows finished loading and then it stops working, I tried 2 different System Restores to earlier dates, and they both failed.

Why doesn't this post or my post to moderator show up on my content?

Hi robirdman,

I have no trouble seeing your posts in your content.

As for your touchpad problem, could you tell me more about your laptop? Specifically, was it upgraded to Windows 10 or is it an OEM version that came preinstalled on the laptop when purchased?

Maybe this link will help troubleshot the problem.

Donna :)

After it seemed that nothing worked and I was using a wired mouse for days, yesterday, I noticed that when my hand brushed the mousepad, the cursor moved.  It started functioning again and I disconnected the wired.

This is WIN 10, upgraded from preinstalled 8.
