Hello,

If you have not already done so. Please run the clean option in AdwCleaner to remove the files, the log you presented just shows a scan was ran.

Then lets take another overall look at things.

Re-run Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST/FRST64) you ran at the very beginning of this topic.
  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Make sure you checkmark Addition.txt box.
  • Press Scan button.
  • Scan will create two logs, FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste them to your reply.
You can delete all the old logs from the desktop now too.

Thanks
Joe :)

After everything happened I didn't think I needed FRST anymore(I thought you wouldn't ask me for it anymore) so I deleted it. But also after the virus was removed start wouldn't open. Pressing the windows key, and ctrl + esc both don't open it. I tried using online tips, but following them made it so I couldn't connect to the internet... So I can't re-download FRST... It was stupid of me to delete FRST like that... Any idea as to how I can fix my internet?

NOTE: The online tips didn't help me with my start problem. I still can't open the start menu

Hello,

]I tried using online tips, but following them made it so I couldn't connect to the internet.

Do you know what tip broke the internet ?

Were you able to run adWcleaner and junkremoval tool ? If so post those logs

I'm curious if the internet will connect in safemode with networking? please try that first. In post #3 I have instructions for booting to safemode with networking.

Let me know if you can connect there.

Thanks
Joe :)

Well, I'm not sure what did it. Since after I did everything the internet was fine, but when I restarted the computer the internet stopped working. I can tell you the 3 things I did though.

1) I opened powershell through task manager(as admin) and ran this command: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

2) I renamed TileDataLayer (This PC/C:/Users/(MyUserName)/Appdata/Local) to TileDataLayer____(I guess making it so windows didn't recognize the file and made a new one)

3) This step worked for the guy who did these things, but didn't work for me. He downloaded a batch file called 10services or something and then ran it with cmd.

After I did those 3 things I restarted my PC and my internet stopped working.

I thought I gave you the JRT file and the Adwremover file? I was able to run it and I did press "Clean". I posted all of the text documents that I got. I think S0 was the run after the clean and C0 was the one before the clean.

PS: I wasn't able to run internet in safemode with networking.

OK, I do have the JRT file. JRT creates a registry back up here--> C:\Windows\ERUNT\JRT. so there's a registry back up before you ran the fixes that you ran, we will keep that in mind, but it still would not fix the start button. I'm wondering if we should just reset windows 10 and use the keep your files option it basically re-installs windows and keeps your files , that may fix the internet and the start button. Then we don't have to spend time fixing internet issues, start button issues, and running into problems in the process. Who knows what else the malware damaged besides the start button. I think it's the best option. We have multiple problems and there could be other problems from the malware that we don't know about yet and you could be haunted with weird errors for months, removing malware is one thing fixing the problems it creates is another.

Reset windows 10 and keep your files

Resetting may take a while, I did it once.

I think this is the best way to go, the options there in windows so lets use it

Well, the reset worked. Both internet and start now work, but something was wiped that would take a month or 2 to get back to where it was again... Thanks for all your help though. I really really appreciate it.

Oh. Just an app I was using to do some stuff and the stuff I was using it for got wiped as well. It's not that big of a problem though.

I see no signs of malware on your computer, and feel satisfied that our work here is done. The steps below will remove the tools we have used, and reset any settings changed.

You usually get infected because your security settings are too low.

Here are a number of recommendations that will help tighten them, and which will contribute to making you a less likely victim:
