Hi

please can someone direct me how to remove the following AVG Protect from my laptop - manually. C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\Antivirus\AVGUI.exe

I believe it is corrupt and when trying to uninstall it sent back error messages (0xe0010002), so on the avg support centre I tried the removal tool - twice - and again error messages.  I have gone in to task manager and its still running, in the properties it wont allow me to deny it changes to my system.

This is also still running:  C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\Antivirus\x64\aswidsagenta.exe

I tried to download Avast as I am 99% sure that something bad is going on with the system - I know my laptop and it's not well - but although it is downloaded I cannot see any writing on the screen - its just open but blank and not shutting down either.

Please help

Thank you

:smashcomp: :upset:

Hi Elizakate14,

Welcome to Geeks to Go! :)

In order to see what is going on with your system and provide appropriate instructions I need to see some log reports. The following reports should provide what I need to see.

Please do as follows:

Down Farbar Recovery Scan Tool to your desktop from one of the links below:

For x32 (x86) bit systems download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool.
For x64 bit systems download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool x64.
  • Right click on the FRST.exe and choose Run as administrator.
  • When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Under Optional Scan make sure there is a checkmark in the box for Addition.txt to ensure it creates that log.
  • Press Scan button.
  • Please post all logs in your next reply.
Thank you,
Donna :)
