I was wondering why I am having so much trouble with my Firefox browser loading pages with a lot of animations and graphic content (e.g. Yahoo and wunderground among others). I have a screenshot of my former plug-ins which I checked against a list I viewed today. I used to have 11; now only 3 and I see shockwave is no longer supported. An explanation is on one of their info pages. I have attached screenshots of my former plug-ins, my current plug-ins and the info page. Do you think the lack of plug-ins is causing problem with page loading? Is anyone else having problems with Firefox?

I'm using Firefox and not having any problems, I don't use extensions or plugins well maybe 1 or 2.. that's it.

clear the Firefox cache and see if that helps for your page loading

Let me know if that helps if not we could try resetting Firefox

Thanks
Joe :)

I went into Firefox Options - Privacy - Clear Your Recent History and checked all boxes except Cookies and Site Preferences. No change. The problem isn't consistent, either. Sometime pages like Yahoo and tvlistings.zap2it.com load in 15 to 20 seconds; sometimes the blue circle never stops going around.

Today I went to the local library and tried Firefox on their computer system. No problems with that, but they haven update Firefox since version 47. Mine was okay until version 52.

I am also wondering if Firefox is supposed to use so much so much memory according to the Task Manager. Why are there 2 entries running (see screenshot of my TM)?

Hello,

Try this program. Close Firefox when you optimize it
https://www.crystalidea.com/speedyfox
  • Download speedyfox to the desktop
  • Close Firefox and run the program.
  • I usually optimize twice.

That might help, but no guarantees
