Its specs say it uses PCI Express 2.1 x1 slot. Is this backwards compatible with a motherboard having PCIe 2.0 x1 slot? Google search turns up as many that say yes, as them that say no. Anyone have a definitive answer? I'm looking to buy this NIC soon, but need to know it will work on my board first.

Thanks for the tip. One other question before I buy this. Do I need a NIC that has dual ports, or 10 Gbps speed? Someone said that if I ever decide to use a wired router with dual WAN I would need dual ports. Someone else said if I want to be sure to reach at least 900Mbps download speed I would need a 10 gigabit NIC. Any truth to either?
