My computer is getting slower and slower, working away in the background. I've run a full scan using Windows defender, but that only said no threats were detected.

 

First, is defender sufficient protection? If not, which protection would you recommend. I'm running Windows 10.

 

Second, could you advise on best way to sort out present slowness?

There are better antivirus programs than Windows Defender some of them not free.

Thanks Freebooter. I'll work through the optimizer list of things to do and see if that improves things.
