I work from home so I have a work desktop computer that I cannot install anything on. What I would like to do is to run some sort of wire(s)/cable(s) to my personal laptop to be able to work on my work stuff from my laptop. Is this possible? There is not an HDMI port on the desktop, so that is not an option. What other options do I have? Please ask if you need more information to assist me! Thank you all in advance!

Looks like those options mostly require installing and/or making setting changes to the computer(s) which I do not have access to do on my desktop as it is a work computer.  I am not really looking for anything wireless, wired is completely fine.  Is there any other advice you could give?  Thanks so much for your help!

To achieve what you are asking you need to be able to access the Control Panel > Network and Internet options to be able to set up the connection.

Are you saying that you are not allowed to make changes to the computer because the computer belongs to a company that you work for.

Wireless would be easier, wired more costly for parts, cables on view but also not so difficult to set up Network 2 computers together using an RJ-45 crossover cable. as said though you need to be able to make changes for this to work.

You are welcome btw  :)
