Hello GTG Group!

I have Windows XP and had the thought that it might be a good idea to routinely back up my hard disc and emails in the unlikely event of a crashing hard drive, duh!

I perused the Microsoft help site and nothing there. What is the simplest procedure for handsfree backups? I wish to backup data files and all .exe files, just in case that old computer crashes. I have a legal copy of Windows XP but I no longer have the original CDs. Please advise.

Thank you,

Colleen

Ah, there it is! Thank you. One more question: I do not have the Windows XP CD even though I do have a legal copy of Windows XP, just that the CDs somehow got lost in storage in another country. Can I get a replacement CD without paying for it?

For the replacement CD, i'd say that you would have to contact M$ and I don't think that they would be that generous as to not charge you. If it is considered legal, you could probably use a borrowed CD for the purpose of the backup installation.

If the above info is not considered legal, could admin please edit this post.

Okay, thank you and I decided to purchase a separate hard drive in case the computer crashes.

Best,
