Hello again Phill, I have done it!!!!!!!! I went back to your previous link and added Winmgmt to the list in the box (the one I posted a screenshot of in message #45) - and it worked! Tha... Go to the full post »
Hello Phill,
Thanks for the link re. starting services. I have not had any success - but have got some screenshots for you and am hoping that you can get some useful information from them.
First..... I tried the last option (#4) in your link. For 'winmgmt', Start was already set at 2. (I also added 'Delayed Autostart' and gave it a value of 0), as follows: -
Next, I tried option #2 which uses "net" commands, with the following result: -
I also tried option #3 which uses "Sc" commands: -
Having had no success with any of the above, I used some info I found at https://social.techn...m-services.aspx to attempt to discover some more info about what is going on. The info in the following screenshots means very little to me, but I am hoping that you will be able to glean something useful from them!
If none of the above is any use, it seems I will have to go back to the instructions in message #42 - but still don't know how to add a service name.
Chris.

Thanks very much for your help on this; I wasn't feeling overly cheerful today, but this has cheered me up no end!
Chris.
EDIT I can see you are on this page and probably typing a message, but have no way of alerting you to the fact I have solved the problem! Am very sorry!

Hello Chris,
Was just reading the info at your Troubleshooting System Services link when I got notification of your reply #48.
A big well done to you, make sure that you afford yourself a pat on the back, you are one very determined lady
Glad to hear that you have managed to sort it and that your success has cheered you up
NB: No problem at all was just reading back through the thread in case I needed to check with you about anything else
Hello Phill,
Oh that's good! I was really concerned that you were spending ages writing a long reply unnecessarily. I wouldn't want to waste your time!
you are one very determined lady
He he! I guess I don't give up very easily, no. It hasn't really got me very far in life though!
Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday weekend.
Chris.
