Hi everyone,

I was just wondering what would be the appropriate specs for a laptop to bring to college. I will be majoring in computer science and minor in IT. I feel like the Dell Xps13 would work fine (8 Gb ram). Any other recommendations would be great

:welcome:   chrisv998,

Not a bad spec for your intended use but there are a couple of considerations;

Is it for college only or for gaming on as well.

If it ships with a 256GB SSD you will need to invest in an external USB HDD.

What cost you will be expected to pay for the notebook, you may get matching or a better spec for the same budget or less.
