idk how and why, but some popnav thing installed itself onto my computer. first i got a window that said would you like to install a internet explorer upgrade and i said no, but somehow some lycos search thing got installed on my computer then this popnav thing and once again, when i put ina keyword on the internet explorer address bar, it doesnt search with msn but this popnav thing. How do these get on my computer so easily?

I think I may know what could have helped all these probs on my computer...I checked my internet security settings on windows this morning and they were all on low, which led to everything being downloaded on my computer without prompting me. I think that would have been the problem?

Yes, it sure would have lead to additional spyware being installed. Open Internet Explorer, on the toolbar select Tools -> Internet Options..., and select the advanced tab. Click the Restore Defaults button. Or, running a browser like Firefox will make you much less likely to become infected.
