I've looked on the most common firemware sites such ddwrt but theres no supported firemware for the router i have.

Question is has this router ever been replaced with a different firmware other than its own.

Reason for doing this is I want to see what its capability is without skys own firmware.

this is what we call an all in one solution, common for many providers to make available to the customers.  In this case this is a adsl modem and router in a nice white box.  It's a locked down device, no third party firmware for it.  You can leave it and do nothing.  You can call Sky and see if they offer any upgrades to it, or you can turn off the router features (wireless especially) and hook your own 3rd party router up to this device.
