Is it normal to take an hour or more to download and install the "Patch Tuesday" updates from MS like it did for me with the ones in May? Is anyone else having this issue? With it coming up next week, I dread having to take a goodly chunk of time to do this.  Doesn't seem like it should take so long to download and install 3 updates. Are here any simple tweaks?

These are my system specs:

OS – Windows 7 – 64 bit, SP1

CPU – Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 @ 1.86 GHz

RAM – 3 GB Dual Channel DDR2 @ 3.32 MHz

Motherboard – HP 0A60h XU1 processor

Graphics – Intel Q965/Q963 Express chipset

HD – 977GB Samsung HD 103 SI ATA

Try:

System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7

This link is for 64 bit:

This one for 32 bit:

Once that runs then get

KB3083710 and KB3102810  (if you don't already have them)

Then try Windows Update again and see if you have better luck.

Control Panel, Programs & Features, View Installed Updates (on left, takes a long time to populate so be patient)
