Hi,

 

I have Windows 10 Home version and all of a sudden my laptop refuses to dowload anything. It lets the download get to 99% and then fails. Initially when my new printer software wouldn't download, I thought it was an issue with my internet so used the cd installation which worked fine but now I can't download icloud for windows or malwarebytes (I suspect the issue may be related to malware?)

 

Any ideas gratefully received. If it is a virus or malware, how can I remove it if I can't download any software that could remove it?!

Which browser are you using?  Have you tried other browsers?

Thanks so  much for your reply. Using a website, it says I'm using Edge 14, does that sound right?

 

I've just tried to run the software again to get the error message though and it seems to be letting it work today

 

I'll see how far I get!

Try and get FRST:

You need to download the appropriate tool for your PC.  If you don't know if you have a 32 or 64 bit system get them both.  Only one will work and that's the right one.

 

[*]Right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer. 

[*]Check the Addition.txt box

[*]Press Scan button. 

[*]It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from.  

[*]Please copy and paste log back here. 

[*]It will generate another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST.exe/FRST64.exe). Please also paste that along with the FRST.txt into your reply.
