Hey there,

I have a question I need help with.  I'm in a very annoying predicament where I have a small chassis machine and I've been trying desperately to upgrade it instead of sinking money into buying everything I need to upgrade my bigger tower.

I have an Optiplex 3020 sff, with Intel i7 and 16gb of ram.  The card is terrible and I want to replace it with this card -

https://www.newegg.c...DQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

It's the Zotac GeForce GT 730 4gb.  It says recommended Power Supply 300w, Power Consumption 25w.  The Optiplex 3020 sff only has a 255w power supply which is of course, nearly impossible to upgrade without buying other bits too.  Is it ok just to use the new card on the 255w PSU?

Here is your manual. > http://topics-cdn.de...nual2_en-us.pdf

Are your sure about the specs you listed? as it appears to only come with i3 or i5 CPU.

Not quite clear which graphics you are using, the iGPU or possible one of the cards that the computer shipped with. in both cases single slot, power is supplied by the PCI slot, max of 75 W.

1.   AMD Radeon HD8490  power draw is rated at 35 W  > https://www.techpowe...eon-hd-8490-oem

2.   AMD Radeon HD8570  power draw is rated at 50 W  > https://www.techpowe...43/dell-hd-8570

The GT 730 power draw is OK but, is dual slot,

Please do a check, open the case and see if a dual slot card will fit, and measure the max length of the slot, then get back to us.
