Hi. My portable s2 stopped working. I was using it and it got hot. I unplugged it after turning the note off, but I've tried again to use it and it's not working. The led light is not turning on, but I can hear the HD spinning...sounds normal, without any clicks. I've tried to connect it in 3 different computers but I have the same result...nothing. no icon in the computer, device manager or whatsoever.
Is there something that I can try? I just want to remove data from it, and then it will be replaced.

It is possible that the interface (inside the case) died. If it is not under warranty or if you don't care, you can try opening the case and removing the disk and directly connecting it to a computer to see if it works.

Hi. Thank you for your answer. How can I do that? I've already oppened the case, but this model does not have a conventional sata connection.

I would be surprised if it did not have a standard connector since that would mean that they modified it instead of using one of the thousands of disks that are made. Generally they use common drives.

 

Could it be that it is a sata connector for a laptop?

 

Is there a model or part number on the drive?
