So I saw this program called RTC Video PnP Listener last night as I was shutting down my PC, and it was one of those programs that it prevents Windows from shutting down. So I give it a bit of time, and go off to do other things. Come back later that night, screen was off (kinda hazy, but nothing was on it, so I'm assuming off) and the keyboard was backlit still. It has these days where it does take longer than normal, so I just went to sleep.

Came back this morning, turned it on, nothing happened. The screen was backlit, but no activity from the HDD. Dad came in, did something, it booted up and it downloaded an update. (Never knew Windows could install updates from the bootscreen) and it's now working, but I'm worried,

Any help?

I can't find much on it so let's look a bit closer:

  • Get FRST from http://www.bleepingc...very-scan-tool/You need to download the appropriate tool for your PC.  If you don't know if you have a 32 or 64 bit system get them both.  Only one will work and that's the right one.
  • Right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Check the Addition.txt box
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from.
  • Please copy and paste log back here.
  • It will generate another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST.exe/FRST64.exe). Please also paste that along with the FRST.txt into your reply.
