Hi,

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed..or had the same problem.

I use yahoo.com as my main default webpage...or have done for some years.

I am based in the U.K

and in the past I could access yahoo.com or yahoo.co.uk

yahoo.com was a USA based webpage and yahoo.co.uk was yahoos UK based website.

later yahoo.co.uk became uk.yahoo.com for some reason.

The problem that I have now is that I am no longer able to access the USA yahoo website as yahoo.com

This happened to me in the past, but somehow I was later able to find a way to access the USA yahoo.com site..

at least on my old computer...using windows xp and google chrome or firefox browser.

But on my other computer ( and at the moment even my older one ) using the same windows xp and browser...

when I enter yahoo.com in my browser... it goes to  https://uk.yahoo.com/?p=us

which does not seem to be the true USA yahoos website.

It seems I can now only acess either    https://uk.yahoo.com/ or https://uk.yahoo.com/?p=us

Lastly, has anyone found that they can no longer access some of their  old yahoo email accounts..

I am led to believe if you have not loogged in for some time ,that you will no longer able to access their yahoo email accounts...

but I had read somewhere that you can contact yahoo and ask them to re instate ones email accounts.

but I am not sure how , as trying to contact or communicate to yahoo seems hard to find how to do so.

On doing a search I have found some website that say that they can reset your yahoo accounts.. but I dont think they are actually the real yahoo and they want to charge you to do it.

does anyone know if there is a real yahoo contact phone number

this site claims to have the telephone numbers for both USA and U.K

http://www.email-support.co.uk/

this one gives a different phone number

Try an anonymizer (proxy) like MegaProxy: https://www.megaprox...//www.yahoo.com

That maybe how I was able to reacess the correct true USA website last time..

but if so I am not sure once I managed to do that , if I could later access it on my normal browser or only by use of the proxy..

I think I was later abe to access it on my standard browser once I had initially managed to acess it via proxy..

I find it frustrating that who or what ever.. that yahoo has made it so that you cannot acess the real USA yahoo website...from outside the USA..

Why would they make it like that I wonder ?

Can I ask about the link that you posted..

When I have used proxy servers in the past , I am able to acess them direct thru a webpage..

but when I click on the link you posted, it seems like its a downloadable file ?

Usually when Ive used proxy websites, you can just use a box on their webpage to enter the URL that you want to access..

and sometime have to select a country..either that your in or where the url maybe located..

is this one of the better proxy sites.

I assume you can just use the sites direct url ?

Simply cut off the last part of that URL. Here's the original:

https://www.megaproxy.com/go/_mp_framed?http://www.yahoo.com

Delete the:

go/_mp_framed?http://www.yahoo.com

so it looks like this:

https://www.megaproxy.com/

https://www.megaproxy.com/

-- edit --

I don't have a clue why Yahoo might not want those in the UK to be able to access their .com site.

I tried the megaproxy link and it worked ok to access yahoo .coms real USA version..     but found that I was unable to log in to send emails..

Does anyone know of any good free reliable other Proxy sites that you dont need to download or sign up to and can send emails.

I used to have one, but I cannot recall it..

or just another recommednation..if you have to down load..

I tried some others in the link below but they did not meet the match or work as I wanted..
