Hey guys! My dad has 2 hard drives. He wants to make it so the system recognizes them as 1 drive so he doesn't have to pick and choose which hard drive he wants to store things on. I believe this is called a RAID setup...correct?

If yes, can I just buy a RAID card or would I need something else? I believe he has a 1TB and 2 or 3TB HDD. I want to get this for him for his birthday on 8/15.

If I do get it, is it just plug and play or do we need to wipe the HDDs and start over?

Is there any cons to doing this? Like if 1 HDD goes, does it lose data on all drives or anything else I can't think of that could happen?

Thank you!

You can do this without losing data. This link might help you. http://lifehacker.co...apacity-storage. I would still backup the drives to be safe.
