Okay I read the rules and all that and I realize that I posted it in the wrong place before about five seconds after I did it. I'm extremely sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused. I read all the rules and I'm pretty sure I understand them, but some of the instructions were a bit over my head. Now I think I'm supposed to post my hijackthis log here, but if not feel free to delete my post and I'll go elsewhere so I don't cause further problems. My general problem is a lot of spyware and trojans, and drwatson which I read about on another post. Sorry I can't be more specific, but I don't know as much about computers as the people in this forum so bear with my lack of experience. I've already used Ad-ware SE personal, spybot search and destroy, spysubtract, and another program that I think is called macafee. If there's something else I should be doing before this then I'd appreciate the advice.

Hi rozame and welcome to the Geeks to Go Forums.

My name is Trevuren and I will be helping you with your log.

1. Go to Geeks to Go
. Click on My Controls at the top right hand corner of the window. (make sure you have signed in first)
. In the left hand column, click "View Topics"
. If you click on the title of your post, you will be taken there

2. Also, while at the My Controls page, check the box to the right of your post and then scroll down.
.Where it says "unsubscribe" click the pull-down menu and select "immediate email notification"

3. As you have pretty well guessed, your computer is in bad shape. It is going to take a lot of work on both our parts to get it purring again.

4. Please follow the instructions provided, you may want to print out these instructions and use them as a reference.

A. Please download ewido security suite it is a trial version of the program.
  • Install ewido security suite
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
  • The program will prompt you to update click the OK button
  • The program will now go to the main screen
You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the left hand side of the main screen click update
  • Click on Start
The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
Once the updates are installed do the following:
  • Click on scanner
  • Make sure the following boxes are checked before scanning:[list]
  • Binder
  • Crypter
  • Archives
B. Reboot into Safe Mode
  • Click on Start Scan
  • Let the program scan the machine
  • While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK
C. Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report
  • Save the report to your desktop.
D. Now run procedures # 3, # 4, # 5 again

E. Reboot your machine and post back a new HJT log and the ewido .txt log files you saved by using Add Reply

Regards,

Trevuren

Okay, I think [hope] I did this right, so here is the new HJT log first and then the first and second ewido .txt files. Actually, I somehow managed to save over the second report so I did a third ewido scan, I hope that's okay.

I greatly appreciate everything that you're doing to help, and I think my computer thanks you just as much! I'm willing to do whatever you throw at me in order to get this all fixed.

1. Download this tool: LQfix.zip
Unzip it to your Desktop.
Don't use it yet!

IMPORTANT! Reboot the computer into Safe Mode (tap F8 during bootup, use arrow keys to select Safe Mode, then hit 'enter').

2. Doubleclick LQfix.bat that you saved on your desktop before.
A doswindow will open and close again, that is normal.

3. Reboot into normal mode and scan with HijackThis. Post the new log as a reply to this thread.

Regards,

Trevuren

Let's try and clean some of this up before continuing:

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

Now let's do some work on your log:

First we need to make all files and folders VISIBLE:

Go to start>control panel>folder options>view (tab)
*choose to "show hidden files and folders,"
*uncheck the "hide protected operating system files" and the "hide extensions for know file types" boxes.
*Close the window with ok
*All hidden files will now be visible

Close all browser windows and RUN HijackThis.
. Click the SCAN button to produce a log.

Place a check mark beside each one of the following items:

I need you to run the following programs and post the resulting logs when you are finished. In other words, I need 3 reports posted at once when all is finished.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

1. Download FindQoologic-Narrator.zip save it to your Desktop.
http://forums.net-in...=post&id=134981

Extract (unzip) the files inside into their own folder called FindQoologic. preferably to your desktop
Open the FindQoologic folder.
Locate and double-click the Find-Qoologic.bat file to run it.
When a text opens, post it in a reply to your thread.

2. Download the RKFiles.zip from here:
http://skads.org/special/rkfiles.zip

Create a new folder called c:\Antispyware\RKFiles
Extract the contents of RKFiles.zip into this new RKFiles folder.

Then,

1. Reboot into Safe Mode

Restart and press the F8 key a few times after the BIOS loads -- the first thing you see when the pc "comes alive" and does its "self test" -- before windows loads).

2. Open the C:\Antispyware\RKFiles folder

* Locate and double-click the RKFILES.BAT to run this tool.
* Sit back and wait untill its finished.
* When it is finaly finished a text file will open.
* Save the contents of that text file.

Note: It should save by default to C:\Log.txt
* Find this log, right-click and rename it RKFiles_log.txt so you can post it later.

3. Reboot back to Normal Mode.

4. Post both logs as well as a new hijackthis log.

Regards,

Trevuren

When I click the Find-Qoologic.bat and run it, I get an error message that says:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application.

and in the Find-Qoologic window itself:

The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

Please download the following little program that should modify your system to allow Qoologic to run. It is adding files, that is all the modifications. It works most of the time.

Okay here is the Qoologic report first, then the RK report, and lastly the HJT log. Something I noticed, though, is that in the HJT log, there were a few items that were on the list of things to delete and when I went through to check them off, they weren't there, but after I did these other steps and ran HJT this time, they showed up.

First, we must stop and disable a malicious service (023).

1. To stop a service and set to 'disabled'

Go to Start > Run and type in Services.msc then click OK

Click the Extended tab.

Scroll down until you find the service.

Service:System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Click once on the service to highlight it.

Click Stop

Right-Click on the service.

Click on 'Properties'

Select the 'General' tab

Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side on the 'Start-up Type' box

From the drop-down menu, click on 'Disabled'

Click the 'Apply' tab, then click 'OK'

The service is now stopped and disabled.

2. Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

Download Killbox here: http://www.downloads...org/KillBox.exe and put it on your desktop

Open Killbox

Check the following boxes:

Standard File Kill
End Explorer Shell While Killing file

Copy & paste the full path of each of the files below into the Killbox topmost box.

C:\WINDOWS\System32\KAUNKL.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\System32\IBOGINP.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\System32\KQODK.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\System32\NQDONXC.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\System32\HFSNAQN.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\System32\IBOGINP.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\NAIL.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\VSAPI32.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SVCPROC.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\TDTB.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\WUPDT.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\VSAPI32.DLL
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\kcrt.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\aywva.dat
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ckilfe.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\iboginp.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\msclock32.dll
C:\WINDOWS\rurghrskx.exe
C:\WINDOWS\tdtb.exe

With the full path to the file name in the topmost textbox, Click the Red X ...and for the confirmation message that will appear, you will need to click Yes

Do this for each of the files listed. Some will not be deleted. Make sure you keep a list of them.

When you are through the list, use killbox to delete the files you were not able to delete as follows:

Open Killbox

Check the following boxes:

Delete on Reboot

With the full path to the file name in the topmost textbox. Click the Red X ...and for the confirmation message that will appear, you will need to click Yes

A second message will ask to Reboot now? you will need to click No (since you are not finished adding all related files in yet)

Click yes on the last file.

Note: Killbox will let you know if the file does not exist.

After the reboot scan with hijackthis and fix the following if they are still listed

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KavSvc] C:\WINDOWS\system32\kaunkl.exe reg_run
O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe (file missing)

Reboot and Post a new hijackthis log

Hi rozame, (That last procedure was a success)

Would you mind removing the double spacing from your log to facilitate its interpretation:

1. To remove the double spacing in your log, please do the following:

.Please go to Start - Run... and type notepad.exe
.Hit OK.
.Now go to Format and uncheck WordWrap.
.Close Notepad.

2. Please submit a new log.

Regards,

Trevuren
