Hello,  I am currently running 2 GeForce GTX 970 SLI and am curious if going to 1 Geforce GTX 1070 is even really an upgrade?  The 1070 is going to cost me one of my 970s and the difference in cash.  Thank you for any advice or good opinions.  The other 970 would be going to my buddy for next to nothing.

Apologies in advance if this post is redundant, in the wrong section, or seems to be ignorant for any reason.

:welcome:    PNasty,

Both options have pros and cons.

A GTX 1070 would be slower but would require less power and therefore produce less heat.

Two GTX 970s would be faster but require more power, create more heat and some games will not play in an Sli set up.
