This might not be the right place for this question, but it was the best choice i could find.
this is my pc spec
Motherboard: Asus m4n98TD EVO
Processor: Phenom 2 x6 1055T 2.8 6 core processor ( not overclocked )
memory: 8gb kingston DDR3
video: Nvidia geforce gtx 550 ti
power supply: coolmax 1000 watt
hard drive: Seagate 1 TB

Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit

have pullet the cmos batter and left out for 5 minutes and replaced it with a new one, no effect
computer turns on but will not post to bios screen, just see black screen and that's it
have unplugged everything from the computer with no effect
tried video card in different machine and it works perfect
took all the ram out and tried them in 1 slot at a time and no effect
tried a different hard drive that works in another machine and no effect

Had you been doing any overclocking or altering the BIOS settings before this first happened.

 

Have you tried connecting a different screen or video cable to your video card to make sure that the present screen is working.

 

Does your computer normally give out a single beep when it boots into Windows.

 

When you turn on the power do you;

 

1: Hear any internal cooling fans spinning.

 

2: See the HDD activity LED blink.

 

3: Can you open the DVD drive tray.

no never attempted overclocking or altering the bios

 

have you tried connecting a different screen or video cable to your video card to make sure that the present screen is working.

yes and have tried the video card in a different pc and it worked

 

Does your computer normally give out a single beep when it boots into Windows.

no never has

it has 4 fans and all of them are spinning

 

2: See the HDD activity LED blink.

the green activity light is on on the case and the green light on the motherboard is on two

 

3: Can you open the DVD drive tray.

both dvd drives operate with no problem

To help with troubleshooting you may want to get yourself a BIOS speaker like the one in my attachment below.

JAFYI: Your case should have an amber LED that blinks when the HDD is busy, no matter that you didn't say that it was or it wasn't as the fans running and the drive trays operating prove that the system is getting power + a bad HDD would not result in a black screen but a boot failure message on the screen instead.

Can I ask how you tested both the video cable and the present display - do you get a "no signal" message on the screen and what the screens power LED does when you try and power up the computer.

 

Possible causes of a blank screen and in the most common order of failure;

 

The PSU not producing enough power for the graphics card.

 

Bad RAM, you have done multiple tests but if the slots on the MB are bad you cannot be certain that all of your RAM is good.

 

Bad MB, motherboards are more prone to failure than the CPU, check the MB for any bad caps, see info here for how to check them.

 

Failed CPU, most common causes include bad OC and overheating, you have done no OCing but what have your temps been like.

this pc worked fine up until the power went out saturday at 9:00 P.M.  my power didn't come back on until Friday ( 6 days later ) and when i powered the computer on it would not post the bios screen and boot to windows

when i turn the pc on there is nothing on the screen it is pitch black,  i have used 3 different displays that all work on different computers the red hdd light does nothing have tried 5 different hard drives and the red light remains off

don't have a speaker like the one in the thumbnail

i can fill the hard drive and it is spinning when powered up

i seriously don't be leave all 4 ram sticks went bad at the same time i tried them one at a time in just one slot and the pc will not post boot to the bios screen

there are no swollen caps on the motherboard and it doesn't have any bad smells coming from it

i have had this pc for years and has never had problems before, never once has it shut down by itself as for temperature i don't think it's never run hot before

It would have been best if you had told us this in your OP 

 

Based on what you have now told us about the HDD spinning up, the other screens used for testing and the MB having no bad caps it is looking more likely that either the PSU is not putting out enough power for the GPU or the CPU is bad and possibly caused by a power spike before the electricity went off.

 

Testing another known good PSU on your system or having yours tested by a local tech store are your best option, the results of either will determine if your CPU is bad or not.

 

 

Edit to add: Noticed that you are already receiving assistance for the same issue elsewhere, to avoid any possible confusion this thread will be closed, please continue on the forum here where you post before on GTG.

 

Additional edit: The following post by member on another forum;

 

i think someone did a bios flash and corrupted it and rendered the motherboard useless

I'm not going to send it to asus and have them re-flashed the bios it just isn't worth it

 

 

A bad BIOS flash would appear to have been the cause of the issue, having this information from the start would also have helped and not sure why it was not provided by the OP
