hi,i was working on my friends laptop (hp pavilion g6),the keyboard was working perfect until i removed it to re-paste cpu as it was overheating.i put it all back together then noticed the 2wsx keys are not working.i checked the motherboard connector and noticed a it bit of dirt or plastic stuck under the pins,it was pretty tough to remove but got it out anyway.tried the keyboard again still same result.I also put in another keyboard from a different laptop but the same keys (2wsx) are still not working.just wondering what are my options?

Check both ends of the cable, as well you could use contact cleaner to see if that helps. Also check to see if the cable got damaged.

Can't see it being the keyboard to be honest as another good working keyboard had the same problem.i had a good look again last night and it seems one of the pins is pushed further into the motherboard.i hope I don't have to get a new motherboard.

That makes sense. You might be able to fix it.
