Hello people-- I would like to purchase a wif fi exntender that I can plug into the wall outlet in my basement. I am trying to speed up the connection on my 60 inch smart TV that is in my basement. But some reviews of these items like on Staples or walmart- do not sound so good. They say that the connection is lost etc etc. They are fairly cheap- some can be purchased for $30 or so. I am just looking to speed up the connection a little bit. I am not looking for miracles. I do get a connection now- but it could be faster. Any suggestions?

 

And are they easy to set up-- do in have to do anything to my TV in the settings to find this exntender. I am hopefully looking for a quick and easy fix with something that juist plugs in and my TV will find it and get a better connection??  Like do In have to call my service provider and all that?  Not sure- and that is why I am leary of this. I also just put my sons old computer since he moved out into the basement as well and hopefully the extender will do the same for that ?? Will the extender do both?  Please advise- and keep it simple for me... ha ha LOL

hey and thanks-- but the cost is a little more than what we wanted to spend. Fist - we hae a router from Verizon(fios)- with TV ,internet and phone service. So we need to keep their router. lastly we live in a cape cod house with an upstairs and a basement. The main router is on the main floor- so what I want to do is extend the range of what we have now to help a little with the upstairs but mainly with the basement and the smart TV capability.  And like i said- I saw some on line from staples and amzon for under $50-- but there are so many???Any ideas?-- and thank you so much for the quick reply.
