lost intenet connection

my computer is stuffing up on me, i cant connect to internet, when i click on dial up network to make a new connection, nothing happens, i have tried all sorts, even using the windows wizard to try set up an account but wont work, when i looked inside internet options under connectivity, the box is blank giving me no options to add a server...can anyone help out please
