Windows 10 Update has stopped my soundcard from working... again!

As per title.  I'm sure there's a simple fix but I've forgotten it.  Checked headphones are selected and checked soundblaster ZxR output is selected in device manager.

 

Soundcard = Soundblaster ZxR 5.1

ASUS Z170 PG motherboard

 

Driver is up to date.

 

I don't understand why Windows 10 can't update without doing this every time.

Okay, well I fixed it by reinstalling it using the CD it came with.  But there really should be a better fix.
