8cm dvd from camera

Hello . I need a little help I have some camera discs from a 8cm camera that I am trying to burn onto normal size dvds but my laptop does not recognise the discs and the camera no longer works . What's the best way of transferring the videos over is there such thing as a mini disc adaptor that i cab put them in then plug into my laptop
