Good afternoon, i have a Lenovo laptop (Windows 7 Enterprise) that i need to mirror with a flat screen TV in my office to show presentations to my customers with. I tried chromecast but since my laptop is VPN integrated (courtesy of our home office), it does not detect the chromecast wirelessly (even on the same wifi network). Chromecast works on my tablet to TV just not laptop to TV. Also, i can't install any downloads without administrator rights. Does anyone know of a solution- i'm thinking an HDMI wifi related product that does not require any software downloads, or just another simple workaround. Thanks so much!

One way to do it would be to connect a HDMI cable between your laptop and TV. (Assuming both have HDMI ports of course).

Thanks, sorry i didnt mention- a way that was wireless. The TV is across the room, and I would love to have a simple way to wirelessly mirror the screens. thanks!!

There are various wireless options available. If your laptop has a built-in wireless system called WiDi (Intel Wireless Display), it will work with a compatible receiver such as Netgear's Push2TV.

There are also wireless systems which plug into the HDMI port on your TV and laptop (possibly the USB port on your laptop), sending the video wirelessly. However, most decrease video quality somewhat, introduce timing issues between video and audio, and, they can get expensive. Full HD 1080p video will run around £200-300 for a transmitter and receiver kit, such as the £199 One for All SV1760 from Maplin. There's also the IOGear GW3DHD Kit which works to around 100ft (rather than 30) but costs quite a bit more.

ok, thanks. Yes, this is just for power point presentations/screen sharing so no Video concerns. Just need to figure out how to get around the Chromecast screen sharing issue, since our company laptop won't recognize chromecast. thanks! i've been researching something that ideally would be "plug X into TV hdmi...plug other X into laptop- boom> screen sharing (without downloads, security, etc)
