Hello,

My computer is running fine once its on...but if I try to restart it. It is very difficult to boot. Trys to repair itself multiple times, and once a got a black sceen and on the top left it said BOOTMGR image is corrupt. The system cannot boot. Only thing I could do was power down and try to restart.

Have tried running malware cleaners etc and it crashed when I do...then I can not start again. Posted in the virus/spyware/malware forum without response http://www.geekstogo...air-loop-issue/, waiting room once without response http://www.geekstogo...m-cannot-boot/, then posted again in waiting room yesterday and today was informed it is likely not a malware problem and to repost in this forum. http://www.geekstogo...em-cannot-boot/

I am still fearful to shut this computer off because of the trouble to get it back up and running. FYI...No recent software or hardware has been installed.

Please help!

Thanks,
Jason

Hello CoffeeDonutMan123,

Heat will often be the cause of such behaviour, if this is a desktop computer can you tell us the brand and model name or number of the PSU (power supply unit).

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here,  this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

I've had success fixing bootmgr problems by booting the Windows 10 install DVD or Flash drive, then taking the Repair my computer link on the 2nd Installation window and getting to a Command Prompt. Enter the following commands.

bootrec /scanos

bootrec /rebuildbcd

bootrec /fixboot

bootrec /fixmbr

Not heard back from you CoffeeDonutMan123, do you still require assistance or is the issue now resolved, an update would be appreciated.
